Accessibility Statement

Lumora Foundation is committed to making its websites accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. This statement applies to thelumora.org and the public pages of portal.thelumora.org (Lumora Nexus).

Our accessibility target

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. WCAG 2.2 builds on WCAG 2.1 and adds further requirements.

The European standard EN 301 549 sets out accessibility requirements for digital products and services. At the time of writing, the version cited in the Official Journal of the European Union is EN 301 549 V3.2.1, whose web requirements correspond to WCAG 2.1 Level AA. The newer version, EN 301 549 V4.1.1, was published in September 2026 and aligns its web requirements with WCAG 2.2 Level AA. By working towards WCAG 2.2 Level AA, we aim to meet the web requirements of both versions.

Conformance status

Based on the testing described below, these websites are partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Partially conformant means that some content does not yet fully conform, or has not yet been fully assessed.

How we tested

  • Automated testing: The main public pages of thelumora.org and the public home and sign-in pages of portal.thelumora.org were checked on 7 November 2026 with the axe-core testing tool against WCAG 2.2 Level A and AA rules, at desktop and mobile screen widths. These checks detected no issues. Automated tools can identify only some types of accessibility barriers, so these results do not on their own demonstrate full conformance.
  • Manual checks: Navigation, menus and forms were checked using only a keyboard on desktop and mobile on 5 November 2026. The checks also covered focus visibility, page language, text alternatives, colour contrast and use at 200% zoom. On 7 November 2026, the cookie settings button and team profile windows were checked by keyboard, and the main pages were rechecked at 200% zoom.
  • Not yet assessed: Testing by users of screen readers and other assistive technologies, the signed-in areas of Lumora Nexus, and all PDF documents.

Improvements made

  • Each page declares its language and offers a "Skip to main content" link.
  • Keyboard focus is clearly visible, and mobile menus and submenus can be used with a keyboard.
  • Text and buttons meet the minimum colour contrast ratio.
  • Images have text alternatives, and form fields have labels.

Known limitations

  • PDF documents: Some documents, including the Governance Framework, are not yet fully tagged for screen readers. Accessible versions are available on request.
  • Turkish version: The Turkish version of thelumora.org is translated automatically by Google Translate, except for texts approved by the Foundation. Automatic translations may contain inaccuracies.
  • Third-party services: The donation payment page (Paysera) and the cookie consent banner are provided by third parties, and we cannot fully control their accessibility. If you have difficulty using Paysera or any other third-party service on our websites, please contact us and we will help you complete your donation or request in another accessible way.
  • Interactive map: The world map on Lumora Nexus can be used with a keyboard. The same information is also available as a country list.
